Quick Start

CD-ROM Installation

Use this procedure to install (or upgrade) the ACO PAGER™ product if you received the software on CD-ROM.

Installation

Software Installation (Approximate time 5 minutes)

Installing or upgrading ACO PAGER™ on your System i system is a simple procedure.

1.  Insert the media (or .iso virtual image entry) containing the ACO PAGER™ software in the optical (or virtual optical) drive on your System i.

2.  Restore and run the installation program by entering the command shown below:
LODRUN DEV(optical device), then <Enter>.
The optical device can be a "real" or "virtual" optical device name.

The ACO PAGER™ product library will be copied onto your System i system as the status of the installation appears at the bottom of your screen. If you are re-installing the product, this command will convert your existing database files and user options. When the system is completely installed, you will receive a message telling you so.

If you installed the software using an actual CD-ROM just remove the CD from the System i optical device and continue with step 7 (on this page).

- or -

If you installed the software using a "virtual" optical device continue with the steps below.

3. Unload the image catalog using the command below. After you run this command the catalog should have a “Not ready” status.

LODIMGCLG IMGCLG(DDLSYSTEMS) OPTION(*UNLOAD) DEV(optical device)
4. Vary off the virtual device using the command below.
VRYCFG CFGOBJ(optical device) CFGTYPE(*DEV) STATUS(*OFF)
5. Enter the following command to Work with the DDL Systems image catalog.
WRKIMGCLGE IMGCLG(DDLSYSTEMS)

6. Ensure the image file (.iso) is unloaded (via option 9) and then use option 4 to remove the image catalog entry.

7. Click here to continue the software installation process.

If the installation fails, enter DSPMSG ACOLOG on the command line to view the error log. Then, call our SupportLine at 866-559-0800 option 2 , or send e-mail to support@ddlsystems.com. We will be glad to help you!

If you are upgrading the software, the installation program creates a backup copy of the ACOPAGER product library (named ACOPAGEOLD) and automatically converts your existing data base files and user options. This library should be saved and removed from your system once the new version has been successfully installed.

If you experienced problems completing any of the previous steps, or if you would like more information on various product features and capabilities, please call our SupportLine at 866-559-0800 option 2 , or send e-mail to support@ddlsystems.com.
