NORTHWEST
INDIANA/CHICAGOLAND--DDL Systems Consulting, Inc. announces ACO
PAGER Message Alert System Two-Way Messaging. With the commercial release of ACO
PAGER v4.5 (or higher) your support personnel equipped with a
properly configured two-way messaging device (and Sprint/Nextel's online
two-way messaging service) can wirelessly receive and respond to message
events that require user intervention. Replies or commands (entered on
their Sprint/Nextel devices) are sent to Sprint/Nextel's all digital
network and subsequently delivered to your iSeries® (AS/400®) system via
its TCP/IP connection to the Internet. ACO PAGER™, when used in
conjunction with a Sprint/Nextel device (and services), provides you with the ability to remotely manage your
iSeries® (AS/400®) system with a simple push of a button! |
 |
|
"Customers
currently utilizing Sprint/Nextel's two-way radio feature (or virtually
any other two-way (or e-mail) messaging provider) can benefit greatly from
ACO's two-way messaging capabilities," said Doug
LaRocco, president of DDL Systems. "Although, Sprint/Nextel's two-way radio service is
still an effective remote management tool, we are very pleased to expand on
Sprint/Nextel's online advanced messaging services. Increasingly, on-site support personnel require
specific application expertise to effectively manage the system. ACO PAGER assures
that the right technical expertise is working on the problem 24/7/365, regardless of their
proximity to the iSeries® system. Utilizing ACO PAGER™'s two-way
messaging features combined with the power of your service provider's
advanced two-way (or e-mail) messaging capabilities provide a secure,
efficient, and comprehensive remote management tool for your support
personnel." |
 |
| How does
ACO PAGER integrate Sprint/Nextel's two-way messaging features? |
 |
|
Utilizing ACO
PAGERs advanced monitoring and alert facilities and
Sprint/Nextel's guaranteed message delivery, your support personnel
simply cannot miss iSeries® (AS/400®) system, application, and network
events (messages) that your installation considers significant. Actual
system generated text messages are sent immediately to specific
individuals (or groups of individuals) via their Sprint/Nextel devices. ACO
PAGERs messaging agents determine the appropriate "on duty" support
personnel responsible for managing the event and send wireless messages to
Sprint/Nextel's
all digital nationwide network. As a result, event messages appear in their
Sprint/Nextel two-way
mailbox and an audible alarm is sounded (see sample below). |

On the "View" messages
display, press the "Reply" button. Then, select one of the "My reply"
values (or commands) and press "Send" on your Sprint/Nextel phone. Your reply/command
is sent to your iSeries® (AS/400®) via Sprint/Nextel network and subsequently
processed by ACO PAGERs two-way messaging agent(s). Then, using ACO
PAGERs confirmation of delivery feature, our messaging agents ensure that your
two-way reply (or command) has been successfully processed on the
iSeries® (AS/400®) via a reply acknowledgment message (see sample below). |

Using
Sprint/Nextel's Online Internet services, customers can pre-define standard
iSeries® (AS/400®) message replies (e.g. C, G, I, R) and OS/400 commands.
Sprint/Nextel's Online Messaging features save time and ensure accuracy by eliminating
potential errors produced by manually keying replies or complex OS/400 commands. |
 |
|
ACO PAGER simplifies business
communications by providing Sprint/Nextel customers the ability to send impromptu wireless
messages to mobile professionals. Use the ACOPAGE command from your
iSeries® (AS/400®) session to stay in touch with technical, sales, or delivery personnel.
Easily include the ACOPAGE command into your host-based
application programs to send wireless messages (to their Sprint/Nextel
devices) in response to specific
application events. Now you can immediately notify the purchasing manager if the
"on-hand" balance of a critical production item falls below its required minimum
balance. Or, send a wireless message to the credit manager if an order exceeds the
customer's credit limit. The possibilities are limitless. |
